Funcom is treating Conan Exiles Enhanced as a separate console application rather than simply updating the original Legacy release in place. Players who already own Conan Exiles on supported consoles will receive access to the Enhanced edition without an additional purchase.
The distinction matters for both compatibility and ongoing support. Legacy will remain available as a separate version, while Enhanced introduces the updated experience on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Visual improvements without confirmed performance targets
Funcom promises upgrades to environments, character rendering, lighting and visual effects. A redesigned user interface and general performance and quality-of-life improvements are also part of the new edition.
The Enhanced experience is already available on PC. Bringing it to modern consoles should allow the publisher to extend those improvements to PlayStation and Xbox players, although the specific implementation may differ across hardware platforms.
No confirmed resolution targets, frame-rate modes or frame-time measurements have been provided for the console builds. The announcement also does not explain whether PS5 Pro and Xbox Series S will receive distinct visual configurations.
The planned graphics upgrade is established, but its numerical performance characteristics remain unverified.
Free upgrades come with migration details
Existing PS4 and Xbox One owners will get the corresponding current-generation Enhanced edition for free. Funcom says purchased DLC, Bazaar items, Crom Coins and Twitch Drops will carry forward.
Save migration depends on the type of server and location. Official Legacy Exiled Lands servers will transition to Enhanced while preserving characters, followers and bases.
Isle of Siptah introduces an important exception. Its integration into the updated world required changes to physical coordinates, meaning existing bases on the island cannot be preserved through the announced migration process.
Private server migration procedures have not yet been fully documented. Funcom says additional guidance will follow closer to release.
Cross-play is not confirmed for launch day
Full cross-play is officially planned, but it will arrive after the Enhanced console launch rather than being available immediately.
Funcom has not provided a specific rollout date or detailed platform compatibility matrix. Players planning shared servers across PC and consoles should account for that uncertainty.
The console release will include the Legacy of the Giant-Kings story arc. Isle of Siptah remains separately purchased content, despite the more integrated world experience promised by Enhanced.
Aloft is also coming to PS5
The second announcement concerns Aloft, Astrolabe Interactive's cooperative survival sandbox. It will launch on PlayStation 5 in early 2027, alongside the full 1.0 release on PC.
The PS5 edition includes the content accumulated throughout Early Access, including five major updates. Its mechanics revolve around flying island bases, gliding, exploration, crafting and environmental restoration.
No console-specific rendering specifications, frame-rate targets or detailed controller features have been disclosed for Aloft.
Funcom has confirmed the early 2027 window for both titles but has not announced exact release dates. Additional technical information and migration instructions are expected later.
